By Lazarus Dithagiso VEREENIGING. - Bafana Bafana captain and defender, Aaron "Mbazo" Mokoena, tied the knot with his beloved Jwalane on Saturday. Aaron grew up in Boipatong, Vanderbijlpark and met Jwalane as a youngster. They have been committed to each other ever since, which led to many thinking that they had been married for many years. But Saturday saw the mother of all weddings. The ceremony started at the Riviera Hotel in Vereeniging with approximately 200 people attending. Afterwards some of the couple's closest friends and family, which adds to approximately 300 people, were invited to the bride's house in Chesterton Street, Vanderbijlpark. Strangely no Bafana Bafana players or new coach Pitso Mosimane were invited to the wedding. Although there were a few media members, they were not allowed to take any photographs during the festivities. Media members were warned that if they were caught taking photos, their equipment would be confiscated and destroyed. There were bodyguards present who kept a close eye throughout the day. One of Mokoena's relatives, Sam Mofokeng, told Vaal Weekly that the wedding was a very private affair. Mofokeng did not want to elaborate on the reason why the wedding of such a prominent soccer star had to be kept secret and confidential. |
