VEREENIGING. - For the last three months 24-year-old Sabelo Phinithi's has been an embarrassment, as he had to live with a large boil growing on his face. This journalist spotted Phinithi while he was shamefully trying to fix the bandage on his face at the bus stop next to the Civic Hall on Saturday.

EVATON. - Emfuleni water provider Mesti-a-Lekoa and the Emfuleni Local Municipality's Department of Environment and Health joined forces to clean polluted streams and areas in Evaton, Zone 7 and Small Farm Park to create awareness on environmental issues such as water shortage recently.

EVATON. - The Uniting Reformed Church of Evaton North held a prayer for peace for South Africans workers who are presently on strike. The peace prayer service, which was held on Sunday, was led by Pastor Dr. Swart Booysen, who read from the book of Genesis when he cried out to those who are striking under the theme "South African public servants: What have you done?"
  Booysen emphasised the fact that teachers and nurses' affects the health and education of those who need it most. "Will you be held accountable for these children's failure? Will you be held accountable for people's deaths?" were the questions posed during this moving service.
