By Lazarus Dithagiso SEBOKENG. - Eight unionists who allegedly went on a rampage damaging private vehicles that were parked on the Department of Social Services' premises were arrested and had to spend some time behind bars for malicious damage to property. In the incident, the vehicles of some of the civil servants who chose not to participate in the nationwide strike were vandalised by angry protestors on Monday. |

By Lerato Serero SEDIBENG. - The African National Congress's Sedibeng branch aims to gear things up for the 2011 Local Government Elections. In line with this, on Monday the organisation established branch election teams in all of the 63 wards in Sedibeng. This was according to Aviva Manqa, the ANC Sedibeng regional spokesperson, at its recent regional general conference. The ANC resolves to intensify its work towards the centenary of the organisation in 2012 by mobilising its members and society in ensuring that it wins the only DA controlled municipality in Gauteng, which is Midvaal. |
